This is one of the projects I am working on as an art apprentice at St. Olaf. The work will be an installation sculpture piece which I will install in the gallery at St. Olaf in February. The concept originated in two dimensional string art, where a long length of string is wrapped from nail to nail on a board to create a design. In this work I am bringing that concept into three dimensions and describing the surface of a sphere with arrays of straight lines. To the right is the most recent rendering of the project.
